How to Beat the Diablo 4 Nostrava Stronghold
The Nostrava Stronghold is one of three in the Fractured Peaks, and it must be conquered to unlock the final region of the game. Additionally, it grants you a new Waypoint, allowing you to strengthen your forces with powerful Diablo 4 classes before the ultimate showdown.
The Fractured Peaks is a treacherous location, teeming with demonic adversaries and fanatical Lilith cultists. As if that wasn't enough, the region is plagued by dark magic, twisting the land into an infernal realm. While you can explore the Fractured Peaks at various points in the open-world game, you must reach a high enough level to fully explore it and complete the final Stronghold. This guide focuses on defeating the Diablo 4 Nostrava Stronghold when you're approximately at level 15.
Reaching Nostrava
To access Nostrava, you can travel via the northwestern path from Navesk or the western path from Kyovashad. From the fast travel waypoint, head north until you find the entrance to Nostrava.
Upon entering Nostrava, ascend the northern path to reach the hilltop chapel. As you approach, a cutscene unfolds, revealing the priestess chanting at the altar. Suddenly, a demonic hand erupts from her back, giving birth to the boss, Negala.
The ensuing battle pits you against Negala, her deranged Priests, and militias. Your primary objective is to eliminate all enemies in the chapel. To achieve this, employ area-of-effect (AoE) abilities to strike multiple foes simultaneously. Descend the stairs to access the lower floor, then turn around to ascend the opposite staircase on the other side of the room. This will grant you access to the majority of enemies within the chapel.
After clearing the chapel, descend into Nostrava to investigate the villagers' homes. However, before proceeding, make sure to destroy the five Demonic Effigies marked on your map. Each time you enter a resident's home, an Elite enemy will spawn.
Defeating any of the Elites triggers an attack from the remaining enemies in that area. During the main story, be sure to destroy any Demonic Effigies you come across.
When you enter the first home, prepare to face two Corrupted Priests. The second home houses two Corrupted Militia, while the third home is guarded by two Corrupted Priests. In the fourth home, you will encounter two Corrupted Militia and a Corrupted Priest, and the last home is defended by two Corrupted Priests.
After clearing the homes, return to the Chapel. Only one Succubus remains, and defeating her is relatively easier. Utilize summoned minions to divide their attacks, allowing you to focus on one Succubus at a time.
The Succubi employ basic and homing projectiles, as well as special attacks in the latter half of the battle. The most significant threats are Negala's massive AoE attacks. The Succubi also cast explosive AoE attacks that cover a large circular area. To avoid sustaining significant damage, evade these areas.
When a Succubus's health is low, a marker appears above their head, prompting all three Succubi to unleash their special abilities. When Negala employs her lightning orb attack, use a Daze effect to hurl the orbs at the Succubi and stun them.
After vanquishing Negala, interact with the Wanderer's Shrine to unlock Nostrava as a settlement. Additionally, activate the Waypoint in the center of town to claim your well-deserved reward.
Continuing your journey through the Fractured Peaks, you will encounter another threat in the form of the Cultist Refuge Dungeon. Although optional, this dungeon harbors formidable enemies and offers valuable rewards for those willing to face the challenge. Those seeking to bolster their forces before confronting the final Diablo 4 boss should consider crafting Elixirs in Kyovashad. Depending on your class and build, experimenting with different Elixirs can provide significant advantages in battle.
As you depart from the chapel, you will receive a prompt to venture into the Cultist Refuge Dungeon.
