By Three They Come quest details
The By Three They Come quest is the final leg of the To Walk a Dark Path side quest chain in Diablo 4. To embark on this quest, you must first meet Sev, who is located to the west of Backwater. Sev will accompany you on your journey to the Esret Chapel, where you will face the terrifying Halls of Dark Portent mini-dungeon and its formidable boss, Blood Echo.
Esret Chapel and Halls of Dark Portent
As you venture through the Esret Chapel, you will encounter waves of Ghouls attempting to breach the Engraved Stone Door. Your objective is to defend the door by eliminating these relentless foes. Once you have successfully protected the door and made your way to the other side, you will enter the treacherous Halls of Dark Portent.
Within the Halls of Dark Portent, your primary goal is to destroy the Engraved Stone Door that blocks your path to the fearsome Blood Echo boss. As you battle against more waves of Ghouls, the door will sustain damage until it is eventually destroyed. Prepare yourself for a challenging encounter with the gigantic skeletal dog, Blood Echo.
Blood Echo possesses a powerful jaw and has the ability to grab and immobilize its opponents, making it difficult to evade its attacks. It is recommended to equip CC Reduction items, such as the Astrolabe of the Technician, to minimize the impact of this disabling effect.
Upon defeating the formidable Blood Echo boss, you will have the opportunity to investigate Symon's corpse. By examining the Tattered Journal he drops, you will successfully complete the quest. In addition to the sense of accomplishment, you will also receive rewards in the form of gold, experience, and Renown.
Unlocking Halls of Dark Portent
To gain access to the Esret Chapel and the Halls of Dark Portent, you must first complete the main story and the Trial of Faith quest. Once you have completed the Trial of Faith questline, Sev will provide you with a new mission. He will inform you about a suspicious chapel in Esret, which he believes is linked to the recent disappearances.
