Take Pictures of Manta Ray mission details

Want to know how to complete the Take Pictures of Manta Ray mission? During your first few days with Dave the Diver, you'll meet Udo, the head of the diving centre. Udo is always on the lookout for new divers, but he's also a bit of a shutterbug and wants you to start taking underwater photos for him in a series of sub-missions.

One of these missions is called 'Take Pictures of Manta Ray', and it might just be the most challenging photo opportunity to date. Unlike previous photo missions where you could dive during the day, this one can only be completed during night dives, so don't even consider attempting it during the day.

Before you head out for the night dive, you'll talk to Udo, who will explain the reason for the photo opportunity. The lights at the location have fallen over, and you need to fix them. Your first task is to pick up the fallen light.

Go to the area marked above the lights and use the Lure Capsule to attract the manta ray. You'll see the manta ray arrive, but it won't approach the lights. Your next task is to find the connector plug, which you can pick up at the location marked on the map. Once you have both the light and the plug, return to the generator on the right, and plug the connector plug into the generator. The lights are now back on.

Go to the area marked above the lights and use the Lure Capsule to attract the manta ray. The manta ray will swim in closer, but it's still not quite at the photo location, which is marked in yellow. Resist the temptation to swim right up to the photo location as you normally would, which would cause the manta ray to swim away.

Instead, only go as close as necessary to make the prompt button appear on the screen, just to the right of the closest light. Wait until the manta ray is in front of the lights, eating the plankton, before taking your photo.

The photo requirements for this mission are:

  • Take a photo of the manta ray swimming near the lights
  • Get a close-up of the manta ray eating plankton
  • Take a photo of the manta ray swimming in front of the lights

As you can see, the photo requirements are pretty straightforward, but getting the manta ray to stay at the location is the tricky part. We hope this guide to the Take Pictures of Manta Ray mission helps you to complete the task, and you can put your newfound knowledge to use in our The Deep underwater survival games review.
