The Diablo 4 Rusted Key
The Diablo 4 Rusted Key is an item that drops on the floor if you try to teleport out of a specific dungeon. It’s an objective item for the dungeon and is stored in the “key items” tab of your inventory until it’s needed.
The Diablo 4 Rusted Key is just one of many collectibles that you need while playing Diablo 4. Others include the Altars of Lilith, which grant you extra ability points for completing the campaign, and the Ancient Relics, which you can use to upgrade your best skills.
How to Find the Diablo 4 Rusted Key
You can only obtain the Diablo 4 Rusted Key after you beat the Belfry Zakara dungeon. Upon defeating the dungeon’s final boss, an elite enemy called the Anchorbound Chaplain, the Rusted Key will drop on the floor. You can then pick it up and use it to unlock the door to the boss’s chamber.
The location of the Anchorbound Chaplain may vary depending on the dungeon’s changing layout. However, the enemy will appear on your minimap as a skull once you get close.
What if I Drop the Diablo 4 Rusted Key?
You can still obtain the Diablo 4 Rusted Key if you drop it during a Belfry Zakara run. However, if you attempt to teleport away from the dungeon, your character will drop the key on the floor. Fortunately, you can pick the item up again upon returning to the dungeon.
However, even after completing the dungeon, you may still drop the Rusted Key when teleporting out due to a bug. If this happens after defeating the final boss, you can safely leave the Rusted Key on the dungeon floor as it’s no longer needed.
