Unofficial Nvidia RTX 4060 'Geekbench' benchmarks show that the class GPU could be up to 20% faster than the RTX 3060, based on leaks that have surfaced. The Nvidia GPU announcement date is only a couple of weeks away, but we may have already caught a glimpse of how this pixel pusher will perform.

Nvidia RTX 4060 Benchmarks

Leaked Geekbench 6 GPU compute tests suggest that the Nvidia RTX 4060 outperforms the RTX 3060 in potential computer processing scenarios. The numbers come from tests spotted on Benchleaks, including two different Geekbench 6 runs using the Vulkan API and OpenCL.

Geekbench leaks don't guarantee improved gaming performance, but they do provide insight into the relative strengths and weaknesses of different graphics cards. If these benchmarks are accurate, the RTX 4060 (or at least the sample used) appears to outperform the RTX 3060 by almost a fifth.

Previously known as the GeForce 14, Nvidia announced plans for the RTX 4060-class graphics cards in mid-May, with the 8GB model expected to launch in July. The official launch date has now been set for June 29 at 6 AM Pacific time. Reviewers and early access testers may have already put the GPU through Geekbench, leading to these leaks.

Here are the four Geekbench 6 GPU compute benchmarks from Benchleaks that mention the RTX 4060:

We should pay attention to the last two OpenCL tests as they’re likely to offer the most insight into potential real-world gaming performance. The above three tests include results for other graphics card options, but it’s easy to look at the numbers and jump to conclusions.

In both the OpenCL and Vulkan tests, the RTX 4060 GPU compute score is approximately 20% higher than the RTX 3060 benchmark. Our first observation here is that the benchmark is based on a single sample, so the average could change dramatically with more tests.

That said, the RTX 4060 benchmark paints a clearer picture when you put the performance numbers in comparison with other GPUs and chips using the OpenCL tests. Check out the image below:

Ryan Smith Endpoint checked in with an executive from Nvidia during a recent event related to the upcoming launch, and they were able to provide insight about the company’s plans for the RTX 4060. While we still don’t know everything about this pixel pusher, we do know the following:

The RTX 4060 could very well earn itself a place on our list of Best Graphics Cards for Gaming in 2023. Stay informed with everything we have to share on the Nvidia RTX 4060 right here.
