Want a sequel to a popular game? There are plenty of games that have left fans wanting more – be it because of unanswered questions, or because they just want more of a particular experience.

We’ve all played a game that leaves us wanting more. Perhaps it’s a story that’s left an untold tale, an open world that begs for more content, or a gameplay mechanic that could be fleshed out further. Whatever your reason, these games deserve to make a comeback in the form of a sequel.

Jade Empire

Perhaps no game has left a more lasting impression on me than Jade Empire. Its gorgeous fictional world of Three River province, populated by martial arts masters, mecha-turtles, and curiously intelligent pigs, could use a lot more fleshing out. While we’ve had a few expansion packs in the form of the original game’s prequel, Empire’s story was never fully told. Focusing on combat that’s a mix of action and role-playing, with a story that’s both emotional and hilarious, Jade Empire deserves a sequel that expands on this intriguing world of its own making.

Ghost of Tsushima

Ghost of Tsushima already has a fantastic foundation, with its beautiful visuals and cinematic feel. So what could a sequel add? Well, we’d love to see a co-op campaign, as well as delve even deeper into Japan’s fascinating history. Despite the fact that there’s very little room for it to grow into a full-fledged open-world game, we’d also love to see a new soundtrack and the return of Ghost of Tsushima’s iconic characters.

Donkey Kong 64

A beloved classic, Donkey Kong 64 deserves a comeback in the form of a 3D open-world game, complete with a new soundtrack and the return of its iconic characters. While it could easily make the leap to current-gen console, we’d prefer to see it on Nintendo Switch instead.

Half-Life 2

One of the most iconic games of all time, Half-Life 2 deserves a sequel that lives up to the nostalgia and continues the story in a satisfying way. Whether it’s more of a standalone story or a continuation of the well-received episodic formula, we’d love to see more of Gordon Freeman’s adventure.

Bloodborne

Known for its challenging gameplay and dark atmosphere, Bloodborne has left fans eagerly awaiting a sequel that can further explore its haunting world. Despite the fact that it’s a spiritual successor to From Software’s Souls games, we’d still love to see some more innovation when it comes to its combat and progression.

Titanfall 2

A highly acclaimed game, Titanfall 2 has left fans wondering when they will get a third installment in the series. We’d love to see a Titanfall 3 that focuses more on a narrative and single-player experience, and less on its multiplayer mode.

Days Gone

Despite its well-received open-world game, Days Gone didn’t receive the recognition we feel it deserved. We’d love to see a sequel that refines its gameplay and expands on its intense zombie survival experience.

Syphon Filter

A game that was loved by many, Syphon Filter should make a return with modern graphics and gameplay mechanics. If the series has been dormant for too long, we’d love to see it become backwards compatible on the next generation of consoles.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Despite its cliffhanger ending, we feel that the story of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is complete. That being said, we’d love to see a sequel that resolves the story and builds upon its immersive cyberpunk world.

Portal 2

Portal 2 was one of the most charming puzzle games, with a unique concept. While we’re not sure that Portal 3 would work in a full-fledged single-player campaign, we’d love to see more of the hilarious banter between Aperture Science’s personality cores.
