What are the last games you’ve finished?
For some, it may have been a big, triple-A title like The Last of Us 2, but perhaps you prefer smaller experiences like Superliminal or Superhot. Either way, we asked a forum what they’d been playing recently, and the responses were both positive and negative – but mostly positive.
Positive recommendations
There are plenty of positive recommendations in the forum, with people expressing their love for Red Dead Redemption 2 and Elden Ring, and recommending games like Control and Darksiders III. Others mention finishing games like Jedi Survivor, Death Stranding, Crackdown 3, and Breath of the Wild, but there are some funny comments, too.
“Finished Red Dead Redemption 2,” one user writes. “Pretty good, but it’s set in a fictional version of Colorado.” Another replies, “Colorado? I didn’t notice.”
“Finished Red Dead Redemption 2 and it was awesome,” another user writes. “Loved the story, setting, and characters.” Some people do have criticisms, mentioning glitches, bugs, and the quick travel mechanic, but the overall impression is positive.
“Finished Red Dead Redemption 2,” another user writes. “It was great but the ending was terrible.” Others mention this too, but there is a lot of praise for the game overall.
“I tried to play a little bit of Elden Ring, but I didn’t like the combat,” another user writes. “Maybe I should try story mode.” A few people recommend this too, suggesting that FromSoftware games are best enjoyed on easy mode.
“Finished Elden Ring,” someone else writes. “It surprised me, the game was actually good. It exceeded my expectations, even for a first-time FromSoftware player like me. The replayability and trying different builds were the strengths of the game.”
“Finished Quantum Break and Control,” someone writes. “Quantum Break was good, but I didn’t know it was a trilogy so the cliffhanger remains unresolved.” The sequel, which is currently in development at Remedy, was delayed into 2021, so there’s still time to finish the first game.
“Control was really good,” someone else writes. “From the same studio as Quantum Break, and the story is intriguing.” Others mention games like Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and Shadow of the Colossus, so if you’ve finished these, you’re definitely in good company.
“Finished The Last of Us 2,” another user writes. “It was good, but the gameplay was kinda repetitive.” Others mention Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart and Firewatch, but most comments are positive and, again, there’s still plenty of time to play these games.
Some people express disappointment with Shadow of the Colossus, but others say that playing it left them feeling emotionally impacted. “Finished the first two games in the Last of Us series,” someone writes. “The Last of Us 2 was good, but the ending was too dark for my taste.”
“Finished Jedi Survivor,” someone else writes. “It was a fun game, but I think it was too easy.” Someone replies, “Jedi Survivor was a step back from Jedi Fallen Order,” but there are still a lot of people who enjoyed it.
“Finished Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart,” someone writes. “It was fun, but I didn’t like the second half of the game.” Some people do say that the second half of Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus is better than the first, so the same may be true of the sequel.
