What are the best Deep Rock Galactic DLCs?

From its inaugural season to the Year One Pass that grants access to all content, there are several options available to expand your Rock Raider experience. We have ranked all of them, from the least interesting skins to packs that offer entirely new classes to play as. Most of Deep Rock Galactic's DLC is cosmetic, but the most expensive DLC offers valuable additions to your roster with all-new characters.

We want to clarify upfront that this list only includes cosmetic DLC packs. Deep Rock Galactic continues to release fresh challenges and enemies every season with its seasonal updates, and you can also obtain free weapon skins by completing in-game challenges. Additionally, Deep Rock Galactic has hidden caches that reward you with better skins just for playing.

The best Deep Rock Galactic DLC skins

The MegaCorp skins are the least interesting of the bunch. These suits look clean, but they do not offer much more than a change of color compared to the alternatives available in the crown shop. Moreover, in-game, you can acquire skins with more flair for free.

The Rival Tech pack provides you with armor and weapons that match the deadly, red-beaming robots of the Rival Incursion season. All the weapon skins feature an impressive level of new detail, particularly the glowing red lights. Additionally, the armor skins are of comparatively high quality, boasting unique designs and a mix of metallic and industrial textures.

Both the armor and weapon skins from the Rival Tech pack are noticeably superior to anything else available in the shop. Unfortunately, since the season it pairs with is exclusive to annual subscribers, this is the only way to obtain similar skins for the weapons.

Fancy transforming into a Glyphid and surprising your friends? The Dawn of The Dread pack allows you to do just that, providing masks to turn yourself into a demonically-glowing Glyphid. The pack also includes skins for your armor, weapons, pickaxe, and Bosco, ensuring that you and your Rock Raiders will be glowing green from head to toe.

This is by far the most experimental pack and the one with the most variation in quality. The heavy armor costumes are visually unimpressive, and the weapons lack the same level of detail as the skins in other packs. Our particular favorites are Bosco, who transforms into a chirpy colored ball, and the armor, which has a unique, paint-splattered style.

As we have come to expect from Spiderweb's RPGs, the Dark Future pack is our favorite due to the unique styles of its armor and weapons. The blacked-out weapons would look impressive on their own, but these skins take it one step further by blacking out the armor to match.

Not satisfied with plain black? The Rough Neck pack stands out with a humorous and unique construction worker-slash-spaceship miner vibe. Each class is equipped with construction worker pants, matching tools, and a suitably epic arm tattoo. Oh, and did we mention the golden guns?

The Biohazard pack features plenty of hazmat suits. With the exception of the Silver Miner, each class receives unique stylish suits that are not overly flamboyant. The glowing goggles nicely complement the colors of the associated class, making these skins much more noticeable in-game.

Supporter Upgrade packs are tiered based on their in-game value, with a gold armor and weapons set topping the list at $150. The next tier down is the same set, but gold-plated, offering a different armor style. Both upgrades come with a gold username in-game and a Supporter badge. The additional effects and weapons added with the base game are significant enough to justify these gold skins.

Compare this $150 purchase to the $30 Mega Suit pack, which includes a generous 400 Rock Royalties (RG) and introduces a brand new class called the Mega Miner for you to play with. This class features chests on its arms and legs that you can fill with gunpowder, explosives, and healing items.
