Mortal Kombat 1 DLC Characters Revealed

Mortal Kombat 1 might be here, but don't expect it to receive all of its fighters at launch. From Corrupt Kabal to Goro, the next Mortal Kombat entry already boasts a killer roster, but a newly emerging leak suggests several famous fighters from the series' past will be available via DLC in the future. This comes alongside a huge reveal for the brawler's first Kombat Pack, suggesting plenty of stunning fighters and skins might be waiting for us on launch day.

From leaks to DLC characters, to design documents that confirm entire fighter lists, the last 24 hours have seen a deluge of new details emerge for Mortal Kombat 1. We first got an official glimpse at the Fighting Game back in February, during a Warner Bros. financial report, but it was officially revealed on May 18, 2023, just a few weeks ago.

It was slated for a September 19, 2023, release, but - true to form - the upcoming game has already spawned a few leaks. You might think that with Mortal Kombat 1 officially announced, the leaks would begin to dry up. In fact, quite the opposite. All of the Mortal Kombat 1 leaks that sprouted up after the Warner Bros. report are still alive and kicking, and they all revolve around Mortal Kombat 1's potential DLC characters.

The most recent eyes-on leak came on May 11, with claims that the next Mortal Kombat entry would be named Mortal Kombat 1 and would be coming not only to the usual suspects (Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S), but also the PlayStation 6 as well. This leak also claimed that The Boys' Homelander and DC's Peacemaker would be coming to the game as DLC fighters, though that's been unconfirmed so far.

However, just one day after MK1's official announcement, we're back with our biggest reveal yet. A huge Amazon leak suggests we can expect several playable characters in the first Kombat Pack for the fighting game, as well as the entire contents of the forthcoming DLC.

This leak comes from an image on Amazon Germany, which suggests all six playable characters featured in the first Kombat Pack will be Mortal Kombat franchise regulars, including Quan Chi, Ermac, and Takeda. The pack will also receive a trio of guest characters, namely Homelander, Peacemaker, and the Beat Takes Off DLC fighter Invincible's Omni Man.

The Amazon listing even provides tentative release dates for the first Kombat Pack and three other packs, as well as a price point of €19.99 / £17.99 / $19.99. While leaks should always be taken with a big pinch of salt, there are a few indicators that this Amazon leak might not be entirely false.

For one, the Amazon listing mentions a Jean-Claude Van Damme Johnny Cage skin for the Mortal Kombat 1 Premium edition, though that still hasn't officially been confirmed by NetherRealm yet. It also says that the first Kombat Pack will feature five Kameo fighters, a type of secondary fighter that can be used in a match to perform a combo-continuing special move. These Kameo fighters are said to be:

  • Tremor
  • Khameleon

While this hasn't been officially confirmed either, there is a big chance that at least Tremor and Khameleon will be featured in MK1's Kombat Pack, as the two were mainstays of the In Time arcade cabinet (Tremor, who's one of the four playable Kabal members, even made a cameo in the official MK1 trailer).

Mavado, who made his first appearance in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, and Ferra, who debuts in Mortal Kombat: Survivor, are also good bets to appear, though it's unconfirmed whether their fighters share the likeness of their respective playable characters, Raiden and Jade.
