Mortal Kombat 1 Reptile Announcement Teased

Mortal Kombat 1 may get a Reptile announcement when the fighting game tournament EVO takes place, as MK creator Ed Boon teases that the MK 11 character may be coming to the classic Mortal Kombat. But if so, it may be more of a tease than anything else.

We recently got Geras for Mortal Kombat 11, but the tournament fighting game known for its highly skilled matches apparently has even more announcements coming later this month. Boon responded to a question asking “what is going to be revealed at EVO?” with the following response.

“Something,” Boon says. “That’s all I’ll say for now.”

Boon’s recent tweet, featuring a picture of a KFC and Taco Bell, is seen as a possible hint. But this wouldn’t be the first time that Boon has followed through on a tease, such as the recent addition of Rain to the roster.

If Reptile does come back, it would make sense as a fan-favorite character who hasn’t been in a main Mortal Kombat game since MK11. It’d also be a great way to use EVO as a way to get fans excited about the classic game, especially with Geras’s recent release.

Whatever the case, we’ll be eagerly waiting to see if our favorite acid-spitter is coming to the classic game.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now on PC, Xbox One and PS4. If you’re looking for another fighting game to pass the time, check out some of the best fighting games on PC.
