Kobold versions

Both versions of Kobolds have a Cry ability, which grants advantage to nearby allies. This makes them excellent supporters in a fight, even in front-line roles.
Kobold Dungeons & Dragons classes
The Dexterity bonus and advantage on attacks for Sneak Attacks make Kobolds well-suited for classes like Rogues. In fact, some of the traits available to Volo’s Kobolds are specifically geared toward Rogues.
There are also a number of other classes that Kobolds can excel at. Clerics, Spellcasters, Hexblade Warlocks, Fighters, Paladins, or even Barbarians are all good options. The Legacy feature of Kobolds allows for a tanking style that leans towards being frightened, so you can use that to your advantage if you choose to play a Kobold barbarian.
