Looking for more Elden Ring content? The Garden of Eyes team is bringing a massive Elden Ring overhaul mod that introduces a plethora of Bloodborne Trick Weapons. However, it's important to note that the developers have no plans for a Bloodborne 2.

Game Rant recently had the opportunity to sit down with the lead designer of the Garden of Eyes overhaul mod for Elden Ring to discuss this ambitious project. The mod includes numerous reworks and additions to new and existing weapons and armor sets in Elden Ring, featuring several ports from Bloodborne.

Elden Ring Overhaul Mod with Bloodborne Trick Weapons

The developer acknowledges the strong affinity in their community for Bloodborne, stating, "We have a lot of fans in our community who have deep roots in Bloodborne. We even started making modded videos for the game and named our community builder [mod] after the enemy [Yama-kubi] in the game." The Garden of Eyes team also recently created a Bloodborne mod for the Lies of P demo, bringing classic weapons to the Lovecraftian world of Elden Ring.

While the Garden of Eyes project also incorporates elements from other FromSoft games like Prey and Dark Souls, it's evident that the team holds a special place in their hearts for the hunter game. When asked about the inclusion of so many Bloodborne-inspired elements, the lead designer explains, "People are crazy about Bloodborne. Every gaming event that happens, people want either a Bloodborne remake or Bloodborne 2."

However, the developer also emphasizes their desire to avoid disappointing fans if a Bloodborne sequel isn't up to par. With The Garden of Eyes, the team aims to push the boundaries and offer transformative elements rather than mere imitations.

Bringing Bloodborne to Elden Ring

Elden Ring is known for its Victorian, Gothic, and Lovecraftian aesthetic, which influences the mod's design choices, including stylized customization of armor and player character models. Nevertheless, the Garden of Eyes mod introduces unique gameplay elements that set Bloodborne apart from other Soulslike games. This includes ports of Bloodborne weapons, reworks of existing Elden Ring weapons, and even the addition of brand-new weapons.

The extensive nature of this overhaul mod helps it gain recognition within the community. The developer ensures that these additions are transformative and not mere imitations.

Besides the weapon additions, the mod also introduces a new Elden Ring skill tree known as The Eyeing Unlock Tree. It features lore-friendly elements that provide stories explaining the presence of these magical artifacts and how players can use them without breaking the lore.

The Garden of Eyes team takes great care to bridge the differences in tone, lore, and design between Bloodborne and Elden Ring to ensure a seamless experience.
