Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Levitating Necklace Controversy
Final Fantasy 7 Remake is filled with small details that have the potential to make fans very happy, but, in one case, a levitating necklace has the potential to make them very angry. From Tifa’s proportions to the size of the game’s Cyberpunk world, the remake has lots of things to talk about, and one floating necklace is nestled among them.
In one segment of the RPG game, players notice a floating necklace that seems to be trapped in mid-air. It’s an extremely small detail, especially compared to the rest of the game’s scale, but it’s also extremely distracting. So, is Final Fantasy 7 Remake playable with only one hand, or is the game actually so large that you need both hands to hold it?
“How do you play this game with one hand?” “How did they even program this?” “Is this a glitch?” These are just some of the comments regarding the levitating necklace. Some wonder how it could exist at all, given the way the game is built, but others find it funny and are more interested in joking about it than actually finding out about it.
“Is the necklace floating because of the sheer massiveness of the game’s details?” one user asks, “Is it just floating in space?” Another user says, “They must have just forgotten it during development. Who cares? It’s boobie Saturday already.”
Others are not so quick to dismiss the floating necklace. Some users point out that the character model might have geometry blocking the necklace, making it appear as though it’s floating. Others question why it is there in the first place. Was it forgotten? Is there some meaning to it that we’re missing?
This is not the first time that the game’s small details have sparked controversy. In an earlier piece, we talked about the ongoing Tifa debate, as well as the physics budget going to Don Corneo’s belly instead of Tifa’s plot.
The FF7 Remake is extremely detailed, and this is something that many fans appreciate. However, it’s also important to remember that, for every person who notices a floating necklace, there is another who sees a beautiful woman wearing a support bra, or an entire world created from nothing, with every soldier having a name.
