Five Nights at Freddy's Plus cancelled amidst controversy

Amidst the controversy surrounding Five Nights at Freddy's Plus and YouTuber Phisnom, the game has seemingly been cancelled and pulled from Steam. The developer has also confirmed that Phisnom has been removed from the game and their contract has been terminated.

A livestream of the Security Breach’s Ruins DLC led to backlash against Phisnom, who was accused of being unprofessional during the playthrough. Phisnom’s subsequent tweet sparked death threats and gory images from fans, which led to their removal from Five Nights at Freddy’s Plus and their contract being terminated.

Now, concerns have arisen over the future of the Horror game and whether it has been cancelled. While there has been no official announcement from Scott Cawthon or anyone else involved in the series, there are a few small rumours that we can look at.

Firstly, Phisnom’s contract termination has been confirmed in their latest video. "I can confirm that I am no longer working on the game," they say. "I will not be returning to finish it." This seems to imply that the game will not be finished at all, and that it has been cancelled.

However, this has not been officially addressed by anyone else, so it is safe to assume that it is still in development. However, whether it is still on track to be the reimagining of the first game we have been promised remains to be seen.

It also seems highly unlikely that Phisnom will return to finish the game, which seems to make its future uncertain. We have reached out to the developer and will update this story if we hear back.

In the meantime, it also seems that the potential Five Nights at Freddy’s 6 remake is dead and buried, as well as the upcoming Five Nights at Freddy’s World 3, and the Five Nights at Freddy’s 6 release date.
