Genshin Impact's Patch 4.0: Underwater Exploration
Looking forward to Genshin Impact's upcoming underwater exploration? The 4.0 patch update for Genshin Impact promises to provide some exciting new content, including some interesting mechanics, such as the ability to explore underwater in the MMORPG game.
Fontaine, a new region in the upcoming Genshin Impact 4.0, offers a chance to dive into the depths and uncover the secrets and treasures hidden beneath the waters.
Genshin Impact's Fontaine region is the latest to be explored in the free PC game, and it looks set to bring some exciting new mechanics to the Open-world game. The Genshin Impact 4.0 trailer shows some of the content that we can expect when the Genshin Impact 4.0 release date rolls around, including the introduction of Fontaine and its unique mechanics.
As you can see in the Genshin Impact 4.0 trailer below, one of the new mechanics introduced in the 4.0 update is the ability to dive underwater. You can now travel to Fontaine, a new region in the upcoming update, and explore its waters by diving straight in. A short animation plays when you interact with the Statue of the Seven in Fontaine, allowing you to dive as soon as you arrive.
This mechanic is fairly straightforward; you can simply dive, swim up, swim down, and sprint. However, you don't need to resonate with the Hydro element to be able to dive. Additionally, Fontaine offers a new underwater mechanic, the Transoceanic Sourcewater blessing, which prevents you from drowning while in its waters.
Underwater Mechanics
When you dive underwater, your regular stamina bar becomes the aquatic stamina bar, which indicates how long you can stay underwater. You now use a different set of controls while swimming underwater, including dive, swim up, swim down, and sprint. You can also interact with objects from a distance by holding down the swim down button and aiming at a specific target.
Transoceanic Sourcewater is a floating orb that allows you to utilize new underwater abilities. You can use Transoceanic Sourcewater to perform unique attacks on enemies, with each Xenocromatic Creature granting a different ability. For example, the Xenocromatic Armored Crab grants the ability to create shields, which you can then use to attack enemies. The Xenocromatic Blubberbeast allows you to use a sonar ability to damage and locate objects, while the Xenocromatic Hunter's Ray unleashes powerful water blades to damage anything in its path.
As you explore the seas of Fontaine, you'll discover several underwater mechanics and puzzles. These often rely on the Xenocromatic Creature's unique abilities, including the need to solve various challenges that use Arkhe energy mechanics. You'll also encounter plenty of Ousia and Pneuma blocks, which are typically used alongside mechanisms to solve puzzles.
We've only just scratched the surface of Genshin Impact's underwater exploration, but it already looks like one of the best free PC games to dive into when 4.0 arrives. If you're looking forward to getting wet, you can prepare by stocking up on the best Genshin Impact summon stones and building up your aquatic stamina.
The Genshin Impact 4.0 release date is set for July 29.
