The Hades achievement rate

The Hades achievement rate is a source of disappointment for many in the gaming community, with players expressing surprise that not even half of the players managed to achieve even a single one of the game’s 15 achievements. Even though many players express disappointment that players seem to care more about achievements than the actual game itself, the low accomplishment rate itself is not particularly surprising, given the player base and the nature of achievements themselves.

Most players seem to see the low achievement rate in Hades as a sign of a lack of interest or understanding of the game’s mechanics. While some players do mention that players who have only briefly tried the game or never really played it could have contributed to the low rate, others suggest that achievements should be tracked differently or have a delayed activation to provide more accurate and meaningful statistics.

Personally, I see achievements as a largely meaningless addition to games and a superficial attempt by developers to appear more caring about their player bases. Others, however, see them as fun goals to aim for, especially when there are no other objectives left in a game. I can understand the sense of accomplishment one feels upon completing an achievement and the dopamine boost that comes with it.

The varying perspectives on achievements in general are highlighted in the Hades chat, with some players mentioning their personal experiences with achievements in games they love and the satisfaction of completing all the objectives. I’d love to hear your perspectives on achievements in the comments below.

Hades and other games

Hades is a game that has an unusually low achievement rate. A few players also mention that they believe the achievement rate in other games could be similarly low due to players playing in creative mode for Minecraft or survival mode for DayZ instead of the modes the achievements require.

The different sounds and reactions that rare achievements on Xbox and PlayStation can elicit is also a fun topic, which I will leave for you to discover on your own.

Steam achievements

Here are some of the Hades achievements and their respective percentage of players who have achieved them, according to Steam:

In addition to achievements, the achievement rate can also indicate the number of players who have actually played the game. Many users argue, however, that the achievement rate is not a reliable metric for player engagement, as many players don’t care about chasing achievements.

However, achievements do serve as a way for developers to gather statistical data on player behavior. For example, the completion rate for specific levels can be tracked using achievements. Developers can also use achievements to start or complete early tasks to help gauge the filter rate and adjust the percentages for future achievements.

For some players, achievements can be meaningful. For those of us who are unorganized, disabled, or simply forgetful, achievements serve as a permanent reminder of our accomplishments. The feeling of satisfaction when you’re able to tick off every achievement in a game you love is also difficult to deny.

So, are you someone who cares about achievements?
