A former G2 Esports CEO criticizes League of Legends player Rekkles, calling him "the worst kind of teammate"

In a new interview, the former CEO of G2 Esports, Carlos, expresses his frustration with the European squad's short time with Rekkles. He opens up about Rekkles' tenure with the team, highlighting the player's attitude and lack of teamwork as major concerns.

Carlos states, "I don't think Rekkles was the worst player, but I think he was the worst kind of teammate. The worst teammate is the one that doesn't care about the team, that goes for themselves, that is not willing to adapt, and is not willing to sacrifice." According to Carlos, Rekkles' refusal to change ultimately led to his departure from the team.

Describing Rekkles as a player who prioritized personal success over the team's success, Carlos points out that his individualistic playstyle clashed with the team's collaborative approach. He emphasizes the importance of a team that can adapt and change the game, stating, "We want to be the ones that can change the meta, because we are the ones that know best how to do it, and we do it together."

Carlos' comments raise questions about the impact of individualistic playstyles in team-based games. While teamwork and collaboration are increasingly prioritized in the esports industry, what happens when a talented individual refuses to compromise?

Carlos acknowledges Rekkles' individual skill but believes that his attitude hindered the team's overall performance and potential. He reveals, "We don't want talent without teamwork. We just feel like if you don't have teamwork, you're not going to be able to do the things that you want."

Despite the departure of Rekkles, Carlos expresses confidence in the remaining roster's ability to adapt and thrive. He states, "They are going to be, I think, better than ever. They are going to be able to change things, they're going to be able to be more creative, they're going to be able to be stronger."
