T1's Tom on Faker's Recovery

T1 head coach Tom provides an update on Faker's recovery from his arm Injury, suggesting that the GSS mid laner's return may still be a while away. Speaking to OSEN, Tom says he's 'worried' about Faker's situation, and that the timing of his return remains uncertain.

Earlier this month, Riot Games Korea released T1's LCK Summer regular season schedule, with all of the team's matches for the first half of the Split taking place before Faker's previously announced return date of June 10. However, speaking to OSEN, Coach Tom says that the mid laner's injury remains a concern for T1, and that Faker's return date may need to be pushed back.

'We are still being cautious, but the truth is that we are also a little worried,' Tom says. 'The return date may be pushed back a bit as well.'

Faker has been absent from T1's lineup for the past three weeks, with the team fielding substitute mid laner Gori in his place. T1's matches in the first half of the LCK Summer Split are vs. SKT and vs. SNS, with the former being the reigning champion and the latter looking like a strong contender for the second-place spot after a strong start to the season.

'Our goal is to get Faker back for the second half of the season,' Tom says. 'We are trying our best to get him back as soon as possible, but we are also trying to be very cautious because it's his arm. It's not only about getting him back to play, but also getting him back to play without pain.'

Coach Tom also reveals that T1's regular season schedule will be unaffected by Faker's absence, with the team's upcoming matches against SKT and SNS set to take place before the mid laner's return date.

However, despite these assurances, Faker's arm injury continues to raise concerns among fans, who are eager to see the T1 star return to the LCK stage. Speaking to The Score, Coach Tom hints at a potentially lengthy recovery process, saying 'we want to be very careful about his health for the next ten years, not just for the next two or three years.'
