Gamers Confess Their Biggest Time Sinks

In a thread on Reddit, gaming enthusiasts confess their biggest time sinks, with a variety of games getting mentions. From the Civilization series and Skyrim to League of Legends and Dofus, there’s a lot of love for a variety of games, with some users boasting thousands of hours played and others claiming over 50k hours.

From CS:GO to Apex Legends, and from Diablo 2 to Oldschool RuneScape, there are countless games mentioned. I’m slightly envious of those with thousands of hours in Skyrim, or with a level 100 character in Diablo 2, but I think the most beautiful thing about this Reddit post is the love for Runescape.

So many people have poured over 2000 hours into the MMORPG, and others claim to have over 50k hours. Other games mentioned include World of Warcraft and EVE Online, with some expressing mixed feelings about their gaming habits, acknowledging that they miss the good times but also don’t miss being so invested in the games.

There’s also a few people who mention dropping out of college or having their lives negatively impacted by gaming addiction. Either way, the hours logged in these games reflect the passion and dedication of the players, as well as the long-lasting impact that certain games can have on individuals.

Biggest Game Time Sinks

Here’s some of the biggest game time sinks, as well as a few personal favorites of mine:

  • I have over 1500 hours in Slay the Spire, it’s just so damn addictive and brings me so much joy, mainly the daily climb mode, I love starting over every day and climbing back up the ladder, I’m at the top about once a month or so, but it’s so worth it for the feeling, the grind, and the mechanics. – Slay the Spire
  • I got into Skyrim about 4 years ago, played it all the way through on my first playthrough, and then again and again, each time going through all the main quests, side quests, and dlc, I’ve easily put over 1000 hours into it, I still love it. – The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
