Metroid Fusion: Overcoming Challenges Near the End

When you get stuck near the end of a game, it can be incredibly frustrating and lead to a loss of interest and motivation to complete it. This is a common experience for many players, and it’s something that can affect even the best games.

Games are supposed to be fun, of course. Nobody wants to be stuck for hours on end without being able to progress. However, there’s a difference of opinion over which games should put obstacles in your way that might discourage completion and which games should be designed to have no way around them.

Some players argue that games that are linear and story-driven should not have puzzles and challenges that can’t be solved. Instead, they believe that if you get stuck, it’s better to look up a guide or walkthrough to find the solution.

“It takes away from the experience,” one commenter writes. “I don’t understand why anyone would be resistant to that.”

While I can understand the frustration that comes from feeling stuck for hours and not being able to solve a puzzle, I also think that it’s not a bad thing for games to be challenging and require some degree of effort to overcome obstacles.

The availability of online guides has certainly made it easier to find solutions when you get stuck, but there are also other ways to progress in Metroid Fusion like taking a break from the game and coming back to it later.

“I’m stuck, so I should just give up,” one commenter writes. “If I don’t solve it, it’s a defeat.”

Personally, I don’t feel that it’s a defeat to put a game down and come back to it later. It’s still a good solution if you need time to think about it.

Many games have invisible walls or other issues that can frustrate players and make it harder to progress in a game. Some games also have complex or unintuitive puzzles that can be particularly difficult.

Different games have different levels of difficulty, and some players enjoy the challenge of figuring things out on their own. However, when being stuck starts to ruin the game experience, I don’t think it’s a bad thing to look up a solution if you need help.

Other Games with Challenging Endings

Here are some other games that players got stuck near the end:

  • La-Mulana is known for its difficulty and complex puzzles, but players still found themselves stuck at various points in the remake.
  • Outer Wilds also presented challenges that some players found unintuitive and had to look up solutions for.
  • Dante’s Inferno is another classic game that many people have enjoyed, but some players found a frustrating puzzle that caused them to give up on the game.
  • You might also remember the impossible puzzle in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night that turned a lot of people away from the game.
