We’ve been waiting a long time to find out who’s on the cover of NBA 2K24, but in the meantime we can feast our eyes on the latest NBA 2K24 MyCareer details, which show that developer Mike Wang has been keeping busy during the wait for the NBA 2K24 release date.

In a new video, Wang shares some of the key updates to NBA 2K24 MyCareer, offering us a tantalizing glimpse of what’s to come for the RPG game mode.

Improvements to shot meters and badges

First up, Wang confirms that changes to badges are coming. They’ll offer players more strategic choices in how they approach different gameplay scenarios, so it sounds like a good thing to us. Wang also confirms that the shot meters are getting a serious upgrade, so they’ll require a bit more timing and skill from you when draining baskets.

Finally, Wang reveals that height limits will be adjusted, so you’ll be able to build a wider variety of player builds without going against the game’s rules. All of these changes sound like they’ll enhance the overall gameplay experience, and we’re pretty excited to get our hands on it.

“This is what we do. We play basketball, we play video games, and we try to bring those two together in a way that appeals to everybody,” Wang says. “We’re going to keep trying to get better and better at that.”

Perhaps more excitingly for those of us who enjoy the RPG game mode, Wang also shares some insight into the community’s expectations from the game. “The community has been telling us that they want to see more strategic choices in the badges,” he says, “and now we’re going to give that to them.”
