NBA 2K24's MyCareer and The City: A Major Facelift
MyCareer and The City are getting a much-needed facelift in NBA 2K24, as the game’s development team shares some exciting details about what we can expect from both aspects of the basketball sim. In addition, we get a glimpse at some of the fresh gameplay and storytelling elements coming to MyCareer, as well as a look at how The City is expanding to include a whole new beach area.
As someone who has sunk hundreds of hours into the MyCareer mode in previous NBA 2K games, I’m always excited to hear about any new features or improvements planned. With that in mind, we get a glimpse into the development team’s plans for the future with a new video, narrated by head of development at Visual Concepts Will King.
“We have a brand-new generation prospect to introduce, more opportunities to express yourself, and a fresh story to tell,” King says as he introduces us to the new MyCareer system. “We’re also pushing the boundaries of MyCareer gameplay and storytelling in ways we’ve never done before.”
The City also undergoes a huge transformation in NBA 2K24, as it expands to include a whole new beach area. King explains how this will give you more opportunities to express yourself and the new generation prospect adds even more depth to the game’s narrative.
Then, after a brief look at some of the new gameplay and storytelling elements coming to MyCareer, we’re shown how The City is becoming an even more immersive virtual space. The beach area adds a whole new set of challenges and opportunities, and King says, “this is just the beginning,” with plenty more to come in the future.
If you’re a big fan of MyCareer like me then this all sounds like great news. I’ve spent countless hours creating my own journey in previous NBA 2K games, and I can’t wait to see what the development team has in store for us in NBA 2K24.
