No Man’s Sky update Echoes is full of surprises, as the survival game‘s biggest update of the year adds a mysterious new race called the Autophage, alongside rich story content and revamped Space Combat. Alongside new features such as Monoliths, Wonder Projector, Capes, and Multi-tool Decommissioning, Hello Games lays out a clear roadmap for No Man’s Sky‘s immediate future, as the indie game continues to defy expectations with its ongoing support.

No Man’s Sky update Echoes arrives later this week, and lays out a clear roadmap for the survival game‘s immediate future. Hello Games has been continually supporting No Man’s Sky ever since its initial mixed reception in 2016, and the full breakdown of Echoes is available on the game’s official website.

Echoes introduces a new race called the Autophage, mysterious “mechanical constructs that consume technology to survive.” As you explore the galaxy, you’ll be able to interact with the Autophage, learning their language and uncovering their secrets. You’ll also be able to obtain mechanical parts to create unique items, and explore the new Autophage system and visit their settlements.

Alongside this rich story content, Hello Games is overhauling space combat, allowing you to battle freighters and defend yourself from pirates. There are also new features such as weapons search, trade, scrapping, and more, alongside improvements to quality of life and UI.

No Man’s Sky has undergone a remarkable turnaround following its release in 2016, which was beset by numerous technical issues and a lack of features. Since then, the game has gone from strength to strength, with the full support of its passionate community, and the ongoing work of Hello Games.
