Overwatch 2 Disables Two New Maps

More bad times continue for Overwatch 2 as bug-trolling exploits have forced the Blizzard dev team to disable two new maps. Paríaso and Antarctica: Pennesula, the newest additions to the competitive mix, will be disabled for the time being due to a nasty bug affecting performance on these maps.

In a recent Overwatch 2 Known Issues post, the dev team stated, "We have disabled the Paríaso and Antarctica: Pennesula map as we investigate an issue with performance when certain heroes are played." The bug that has caused these maps to malfunction will be the primary focus for the dev team.

Paríaso was introduced at Overwatch 2's launch, while Antarctica: Peninsula was released in February of this year. The bug allows players to manipulate Mercy's weapons and gear, resulting in a significant drop in game performance for all players in a game lobby.

This latest setback adds to the frustration that many players feel towards the development team. Despite the lack of trust in the team's ability to deliver, there is still hope for Overwatch 2's future. However, the recent announcement of a $15 charge for co-op PvE story missions has only fueled the skepticism among the community.

PC Gamer's Tyler Colp expressed his disappointment, stating, "Considering trust in the team's ability to deliver on its promises is at an all-time low, I had assumed Blizzard wouldn't take this particular opportunity to ask for more money. But I suppose I should have expected it."

While the road ahead may be challenging, Overwatch 2 still holds potential. The dev team will need to regain the trust of its community through consistent updates and improvements.
