Squirtle Community Day
The next Pokemon Go Community Day is here, and Squirtle is the featured Pokemon. This Water-type Pokemon is beloved by fans, and Niantic has chosen it for the next event. During this Community Day, you'll have the opportunity to catch multiple Squirtle, and there will be increased spawns of its evolutions, Wartortle and Blastoise.
Event Details
If you're planning on attending the Squirtle Community Day, here's everything you need to know. The event will take place on May 18, 2023, a Saturday, from 2pm to 7pm in your local time. Additional bonuses will be available from 2pm to 5pm.
How to Evolve Squirtle
To evolve Squirtle into Wartortle, you'll need 25 Squirtle Candy. Then, to evolve Wartortle into Blastoise, you'll need an additional 100 Squirtle Candy. Take advantage of the increased spawn rate during the Community Day to gather enough Squirtle Candy for multiple evolutions.
Squirtle won't have its featured attack when caught. You'll need to evolve Wartortle into Blastoise to obtain the Water-type Charged Attack, Hydro Cannon. Evolving Wartortle between 2pm and 7pm local time will ensure that it learns the Featured Attack.
Special Bonuses
During the Community Day, from 2pm to 5pm local time, you'll enjoy special bonuses. Various Field Research Tasks will be available, requiring you to catch multiple Squirtle. Completing these tasks will reward you with an encounter with Squirtle wearing sunglasses. Additionally, a Special Research Story quest line titled Community Day Special Research story - Squirtle Community Day Classic will be available for purchase. The Special Research is not time-limited, so you can complete it at your leisure after the event.
