Spider-Man 2 Suit Texture Controversy

Spider-Man 2 may be facing another controversy ahead of launch, as some fans have complained about the suit’s textures in the Open-world game. In the wake of the puddlegate controversy in Spider-Man 2099, some players fear that the visuals in the sequel have been downgraded to an unacceptable degree. The change in question, however, is relatively minor, and likely wouldn’t even be noticeable during gameplay.

In a series of tweets, Redditor _PapaLazza_ shares a side-by-side comparison of Spider-Man 2‘s suit texture and model compared to the original game. The image shows a clear difference between the two, with the new model and texture appearing significantly blurrier than the original.

It’s worth noting that visuals often get tweaked and downgraded during development to ensure smooth gameplay. In fact, the change in question is rather minor, and would likely go unnoticed during gameplay – especially on a high-end PS5.

Beyond that, I don’t think there’s much to say regarding this particular comparison. Comparing it to the previous “puddlegate” controversy is a bit of a stretch, and while I’m certainly not one to tell anyone how they should feel, I think we can all agree that there are bigger battles to fight in the gaming industry.

In any case, Spider-Man 2 is set to launch as a PS5 exclusive on October 20. Check out our Spider-Man 2 review roundup to see how the game fared with other critics.
