Stardew Valley 1.5 introduces new end-game content

Stardew Valley 1.5 introduces a bunch of new end-game content, including the much-awaited Ginger Island and the mysterious Walnut Room. Here’s the lowdown on everything we know so far, including how to unlock the Walnut Room, what you can do there, and how to earn the currency known as Qi gems.

How to unlock the Walnut Room

The Walnut Room is a location in the basement of the museum in Pelican Town. It houses a unique shop that sells the most powerful items in the game, including everything we’ve mentioned in this guide.

To unlock the Walnut Room, you must complete the Community Center in Pelican Town and reach Ginger Island. Once you’re on the island, you’ll be able to take an elevator down to the museum’s basement, which houses the shop.

How to get Qi gems

There are three ways to earn Qi gems in Stardew Valley. Pierre, who runs the museum, will give you special commissions to complete, all of which require you to spend Qi gems. The more challenging the task, the higher the reward will be. The following is the list of Qi gems tasks and the reward for each:

  • By completing these special commissions, you’ll gain Qi gems as a reward.
  • You can also exchange golden walnuts for Qi gems at a rate of two Qi gems per walnut.
  • If you’re lucky enough to befriend the parrots on Ginger Island, they’ll eventually demand a payment. Each parrot requires a golden walnut to pay off, but you’ll receive two Qi gems in return.

New Items in Stardew Valley 1.5

The following are some of the new items introduced in Stardew Valley 1.5:

  • The Junimo Chest is a set of two chests that can be placed anywhere on your farm. They’re linked together and can be used to easily access items from any location. You can place items inside the chests and they’ll be moved to a machine or chest in front of them.
  • The Horse Flute is a totem that you can use to summon your horse to your side. This item can be placed anywhere and is especially useful if you’re regularly using horse-based equipment, such as the horse watering trough.
  • The Hopper is a unique piece of furniture that has the ability to move items placed inside it to a machine or chest in front of it. The Hopper can be used to automate a number of tasks, such as automatically feeding your livestock or depositing materials in a chest. The Hopper can also fertilize tiles around it, which is useful if you want to automate the process of fertilizing your crops.
  • The Enricher automatically fertilizes the tiles around it, which is useful if you want to automate the process of fertilizing your crops. The Enricher can be used in conjunction with the Hopper to automate the process of watering and fertilizing your crops.
  • The Pressure Nozzle adds an extra tile of watering room to an existing sprinkler, which can be useful if you have limited space on your farm.
  • The Deconstructor is an extremely useful piece of equipment that allows you to destroy crafted items. Using the Deconstructor will return the most valuable material to you, which can be extremely useful when you’re trying to save space in your inventory. You’ll also be able to craft various recipes using Qi gems, including Magic Bait, Heavy Tapper, Hyper Speed-Gro, Deluxe Fertilizer, and Hopper.
  • The Key to The Town is a special item that allows you to open any door in town at any time. Regardless of opening hours or friendship requirements, you’ll be able to access any room in any building.
  • Pierre’s Missing Stock List allows Pierre to sell crop seeds year-round, including out-of-season seeds at a higher price.
  • The Galaxy Soul is a unique item that can be combined with other items to create the ultimate weapon type in the game: the Infinity weapon. The Galaxy Soul can be combined with the following items to create different Infinity weapons:
  • The Mushroom Tree Seed grows rare mushroom trees on your farm. Mushroom trees attract fairy-like creatures known as the Stardew Fairies. They can be collected as items or left on your farm for aesthetic purposes.
  • Magic Bait can be used to catch any type of fish, regardless of weather or time of day. By placing Magic Bait in a fish trap, you’ll be guaranteed a gold quality catch.
  • Qi Seasoning guarantees that every dish you cook will be of gold star quality.
