Stardew Valley Volcano Dungeon Guide

Are you wondering how to get to the Stardew Valley volcano dungeon? The Ginger Island update introduced a new dungeon themed around a volcano. This challenging end-game content tests your battle skills as you navigate lava and reach the highest floor. There are plenty of new items to discover, including Cinder Shards and the Dwarven weapons.

How to Find the Stardew Valley Volcano Dungeon

The Stardew Valley volcano dungeon is a standard dungeon that can only be accessed after completing the game for the first time. To reach the entrance, head to the top floor of the library in Pelican Town. There, you'll find an entrance that leads to a set of stairs.

What to Expect in the Stardew Valley Volcano Dungeon

The Stardew Valley Volcano Dungeon is filled with lava, lava, and more lava. As such, you'll need to be careful when navigating the floors, as you'll need an upgraded watering can to create paths across the lava. Furthermore, your run can be made significantly easier by paying golden walnuts to access shortcuts.

When you first enter the dungeon, you'll find yourself on the first floor of the Forge area. There are two Golden Walnuts to find here; one by shaking a tree near the entrance, and another in the chest located to the right of the Corrupted Statue. If you're looking to avoid as many floors as possible, these will allow you to access the second floor.

The next area you'll encounter is the Corrupted Forest, which leads to the third floor of the Forge area. In this area, you'll find a few items that are helpful for the dungeon run, namely the Dragontooth Weapons, which can be found in chests, and the Dwarf Shop on level five. You can't craft Dragontooth Weapons, so be sure to grab them if you see them. The Dwarf shop on level five is particularly useful as it sells pickaxes, which allow you to break rocks, and watering cans, which you'll need to navigate the dungeon.

After you're done exploring the Corrupted Forest, head up to the third floor of the Forge area to find the Warp Totem that takes you to the next area. This next part of the dungeon is filled with enemies that are disguised as mushrooms. Be careful as you navigate this area, as these enemies attack once you get near them.

The next zone, the Fungal Cavern, is a bit more straightforward. There are small patches of land in lava pools, so you'll need to make sure you have an upgraded watering can to create paths. If you're really feeling confident, you can skip most of this floor by using a shortcut, but be careful as ladders may not appear on every level.

The last area before you reach the boss of the dungeon is the Island, which is filled with small islands in lava pools. These areas are particularly tricky as you'll need to use the upgraded watering can to create paths to the smaller islands. If you die during the fight against the boss, you may notice that your ladders don't appear on every level. To avoid this, we recommend bringing warp totems with you, as they'll teleport you to the entrance of the dungeon if you die.

The final boss fight of the Volcano Dungeon is against the Corrupted Colossus. This giant boss is surprisingly easy to beat, as all you need to do is attack it while avoiding its attacks. After you deplete its health bar, it will start to attack more frequently, forcing you to move around. Keep attacking it until it dies, rewarding you with the Corrupted Crown and access to the final floor of the Volcano Dungeon.

Finally, the Volcano Dungeon is filled with a few unique enemies. They all have unique characteristics, so we've included a quick overview of each one below:

Now you know everything there is to know about the Stardew Valley Volcano Dungeon, you're ready to take on the challenge. Be sure to grab the Corrupted Crown if you plan on going back, but also keep in mind that you can also spend golden walnuts to access shortcuts.
