Bethesda releases three animated shorts for Starfield

Bethesda Softworks has released three new animated shorts for Starfield, showcasing life in the cities of Al Mazrah, Belgrade, and Bostra as the RPG game’s release date close in. But while the shorts are full of intrigue and intrigue, fans are still hoping for one thing – playable mechs.

Despite the fact that Todd Howard said there would be no land vehicles in Starfield, a new poster and animated short titled “The Hand That Feeds” has fans speculating about the possibility of mechs.

Each of the animated shorts focuses on setting the scene and humble beginnings, with no guarantee of greatness. The videos themselves are a little underwhelming, with muted colors and stilted animations.

Even so, it seems unlikely that Bethesda would release three short animations for Starfield without any plans to follow through. Although Howard’s comments about land vehicles were made prior to the game’s release date announcement, perhaps the team has been working on something behind closed doors.

Personally, I’m holding out for a full-blown Starfield anime. In the meantime, you can check out the Starfield animated shorts below:

Starfield animated shorts:

“Supra Et Ultra” follows a courier pilot named Kent who aspires to live in the most desirable part of the Settled Systems. He enjoys his job but wants to make more money.

“Where Hope is Built” features Vanna, an orphan who wants to explore the stars but is in search of repair parts for her ship. The short is the most touching of the three and a great showcase of Starfield’s potential.

“The Hand That Feeds” tells the story of two street rats, Ada and Harper, who steal from wealthy partygoers but face a moral dilemma. The animation style in this short is perhaps the most jarring, but the story is nonetheless compelling.

Starfield is set to release on September 6. Check out the full Starfield system map to plan your adventures, or take a look at the best survival games you can play right now if you’re in the mood for some post-apocalyptic action.
