Starfield PS5 Exclusive Petition
Seven years of Skyrim, three of Quake, one of Doom, and the latest from Wolfenstein and Prey to a lesser extent... PlayStation fans have been left starved of Bethesda content, at least compared to Xbox, as the long-term Xbox console exclusives are owned by Microsoft. Now, as Bethesda announces its new sci-fi RPG Starfield, some PlayStation fans are trying to change that by starting a Starfield PS5 exclusive petition.
The Starfield PS5 exclusive petition claims that Bethesda games perform better, run better, and sell better on PlayStation, while suggesting Xbox and its players do not deserve Starfield or any exclusivity. The petition even proposes protesting outside of stores on launch day and contacting political representatives.
We would never argue that there’s not a disparity between how Xbox plays, enjoys, and perceives their Bethesda games compared to PlayStation. That’s partly because for many years Xbox players have had so much more of it. But it’s also partly because there really is no such thing as a PlayStation exclusive, which is why Xbox owns Skyrim, Doom, and more.
Actually, many people have signed the petition to mock it in the comments, suggesting it’s likely a troll making a joke. Even if that’s true, it’s too late for any changes to the exclusivity, and there is no magic number to change Bethesda’s ownership.
So, we're all big boys and girls – for the most part – so let’s just relax and enjoy the console war bickering.
If you want to see it for yourself, the petition has become trending news just days before Starfield launches.
