Starfield Sandwiches: A Countdown to Launch Filled with Whimsy

A countdown to Starfield launch filled with "sandwiches" has appeared online, and I'm not sure whether I should be happy or disturbed.

A very silly website has emerged counting down to Starfield. I’m not going to lie, I’m incredibly jealous of whoever got to make this. Not only do I want to work on something this cool, I want to be the person who gets to say “I made this.” I’m sure the people who made this don’t want to brag, but they did such a good job with this that I want to give them a big hug.

You may remember the “sandwich lady” from The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim – she’s a woman who runs around the world handing out sandwiches. Well, from the Starfield trailer, it looks like a soldier is handing out sandwiches. A countdown website has appeared that counts down to launch, and every five minutes, another sandwich appears.

The soldier really needs to stop teleporting sandwiches. Especially since these sandwiches contain bread. As cake is to Portal and cabbages are to Skyrim… sandwiches are to Starfield? I think so.

As we get closer to release, there will be THOUSANDS of sandwiches. Maybe let me eject some sandwiches out of space? Sandwiches aren’t just a countdown though, they’re also a community inside joke. Well played, Bethesda. Well played.

I’m so hungry now.
