Street Fighter 6 Jamie: A Guide to Mastering his Moves and Combos

Street Fighter 6 introduces Jamie, a rekka-based character with a unique moveset that expands as he drinks tea. This drinking system naturally increases Jamie's abilities over time, but it requires strategic decision-making on when to cash out and deal heavier damage.

Street Fighter 6 Jamie Drinking System

The Devil Inside is Jamie's signature drinking move. After throwing or pushing his opponent away, Jamie drinks tea while they're in the air or when they land. The base of The Devil Inside increases Jamie's drink meter by one. However, if you finish the motion with a lunge punch, the move has punch strengths that allow continuous drinking. Tapping the button instead of holding it is recommended, except when trying to provoke your opponent into pursuing more aggressively.

Other combos that naturally increase drink include:

  • Freeflow Strikes: Jamie's rekka attack that allows up to three additional hits. The first hit is safe on block and can bait out opponent attacks.
  • Freeflow Kicks: Similar to Freeflow Strikes, the first hit is safe on block. Utilizing heavy punch at the end of these combos allows you to perform a Super: Getsuga Saiho.
  • Swagger Step: A lunging punch that covers ground quickly. On hit, it's safe, but on block, it's just -2, giving the opponent a chance to retaliate.
  • Arrow Kick: A reversal option that functions as an anti-air with precise timing. Follow up with a heavy punch for a hard hit at the end.
  • Luminous Dive Kick: Jamie's first drink-based special move. It's a dive kick that controls space and avoids fireballs. Should you get hit by a fireball, Punishing Bakkai deals massive damage.

Other Moves

Aside from the above combos, Jamie's neutral game includes utilizing Luminous Dive Kick, crouching medium kick, standing medium kick, and crouching medium punch to control space. Crouching medium punch is especially effective for conditioning opponents to block low, which can then be capitalized on with heavy medium punch or heavy medium kick. Standing heavy punch, Phantom Sway, and anti-air heavy kick are also useful for applying pressure and countering opponents.

That's the breakdown of Jamie's moves and combos in Street Fighter 6.
