My Adventures With Superman

My Adventures With Superman seems like the kind of show that would be pretty hard to get excited about. I mean, it’s about a dude who wears glasses and can fly. The appeal seems pretty niche. But if you’re like me, and you’re always searching for more cute shows with a guy at the center, then you should probably check out this new Superhero anime that’s currently trending.

My Adventures With Superman (or My Superman, as fans have taken to calling it) is a delightful romantic comedy that pairs its superhero elements with a touch of shonen anime flair. It’s also just the right amount of relatable, making Clark Kent’s struggle to find his place in the world feel comforting.

Right off the bat, My Superman’s strengths shine through with its characters. Clark Kent’s portrayal specifically embraces his masculine appeal and insecurities as he grapples with his role as Superman. Beneath his superpowers, Clark strives to be a good journalist and an even better boyfriend.

While his relationships with Lois, Lois, and Lois’s dog, Lou, take center stage, the series doesn’t shy away from Clark’s role as Superman. Whether he’s trying to hide his powers from Lois or slamming into a building while trying to fly, Clark’s efforts to balance his dual identities make the series just as fun to watch.

Though he’s often characterized as a muscle-bound himbo, Clark Kent shines in My Superman as a character who tries his best and is always eager to learn. He’s not perfect, and he’ll often find himself in sticky situations because of his own clumsiness. But his earnest efforts make him endearing.

The series playfully showcases Clark’s attempts to hide his powers, including a super-cute scene where he saves a cat and accidentally destroys a door. But perhaps the most significant scene showcasing Clark’s cuteness comes at the end of episode two, when he catches Lois mid-air after she jokes about his size.

While we often see Clark and Lois bicker, the way the series balances their banter with sweet moments like this one makes their relationship feel more genuine. Lois remains oblivious to Clark’s secret identity, which only adds to the comedic charm of the story. Still, the series promises to dive deeper into the pair’s Romance, with future obstacles that will test their bond and shape their futures.

While Lois’s character is also charming, what makes her so appealing is her relationship with Clark. Their natural and spontaneous confession of feelings at the end of episode one is what truly sold me on the show. It’s a moment that feels so sincere and spontaneous, and it gives their romance a sense of depth.

And while Lois’s endearing himbo persona also gives the show a boost, the cuteness of the central trio isn’t all My Superman has to offer. The series balances romance with the action and humor of the superhero genre, giving Clark the freedom to make mistakes and discover his purpose along the way.

If there’s one word I would use to describe My Superman, it’s ‘exuberant.’ The series’ treatment of iconic characters like flawed adults finding their way in the world makes the show feel fresh, while the show’s vibrant animation and art style reminiscent of Teen Titans or She-Ra or Voltron only adds to its appeal.

If you’re looking for something light-hearted and adorable to keep you company this week, I can’t recommend My Superman enough. Prepare to be charmed by Clark Kent’s cuteness—it’s impossible not to adore him.
