Tekken 7: Impressive Graphics and Character Designs Spark Mixed Reactions

The new Tekken game is shaping up nicely, according to the impressions we’ve seen from the Tekken 7 beta. Many users are left in awe of the game’s impressive ray tracing graphics, and there’s even a lot of positive feedback regarding the gameplay. However, there’s some disagreement regarding the new characters and their designs.

Some players are commenting on the characters’ unrealistic appearance, with some even calling them “cosplayers” or wax figures. Some of the most intense comments are reserved for Nina, with some users even suggesting that she’s a “soccer mom” who spent too much money on plastic surgery. On the other hand, there are comments that liken her to Lady Gaga, as both are known for their unique sense of style.

Some characters elicit a lot of comments, but others are left alone. For example, Anna Williams is mentioned only once, with a user joking that she’s been training for the past eight Tekkens. There’s also a comment about the year 2033 mentioned in the title, with one user wondering if it’s a typo.

Regardless of the opinions shared on social media, most people acknowledge the hard work put into creating the characters’ bodies and outfits.

“Jin looks cool,” one user writes, while another replies, “Kazuya looks cool, but Jin looks cool-er.” Of course, this doesn’t stop them from making comments about the characters’ physiques and clothing.

One user even mistook Jin Kazama for Kota Ibushi in cosplay, noting how similar their faces are. On the other hand, some players comment on how realistic the clothing looks, compared to previous Tekken titles.

While there are some criticisms about the graphics, the new gameplay, and the character models, most people are simply happy to see a new Tekken game.

“The graphics are amazing,” one user writes, while another replies, “New Tekken looks amazing.” There’s even a comment that compares Tekken 7 to the PS4 launch game, The Last of Us, which is high praise indeed.

Others are more critical, especially when it comes to the character designs. Some users feel that the characters look more like “cosplayers” or even wax figures, while others call Nina’s outfit “inappropriate” for a woman in her late 40s.

There’s also a lot of admiration for the cosplayers that resemble Tekken characters. One user praises Leonchiro for his cosplays of Claudio, Lars, and Nina. Leonchiro’s makeup skills and dedication to maintaining a fit physique are particularly applauded.

Another user points out that there are some cosplayers whose looks are so similar to Tekken characters that they can be mistaken for them. The user includes a video of ElizabethRage cosplaying as Nina, complete with her signature hairstyle and outfit.

There’s also a comment from the same user that compares "cosplayers" to wax figures, which prompts another lengthy debate.

In any case, most users are simply happy to see Tekken characters return to Evo and are looking forward to the Tekken 7 release date.
