Mixed feelings about Jett nerfs
Following Riot Games’ statement on the upcoming Valorant patch, players are expressing mixed feelings about the Jett nerfs.
“It’s time to put the ‘noob-trap’ known as Jett to rest once and for all,” Riot Games’ notes on the Valorant patch begin. The developer followed up by significantly altering Jett’s abilities, affecting her overall effectiveness in the popular battle royale game.
Players agree that agents must be balanced, but Jett’s mobility and damage potential have been significantly reduced, and some players are describing the agent as “dead” in the current meta.
“I understand that she was broken,” one player says. “But they literally gutted her mobility and damage output. She’s dead.”
“It’s hard to be upset about a nerf, but when it’s this severe,” another replies. “I mean, we all know she needed to be nerfed, but this is too much.”
Players also express disappointment with the direction of the nerfs, as Jett’s overall damage output in the game has been reduced as well.
“I’m not upset with the nerfs, just disappointed in how they did it,” another player says. “I think they could have nerfed her mobility without gutting her damage.”
“I understand nerfing her mobility,” another replies. “But the damage nerfs are a little too much. She’s not even a tank. She’s supposed to take damage and sacrifice herself to save her team.”
In spite of the criticism, Valorant players remain optimistic about the game’s evolving meta.
“The meta is always changing,” one player remarks. “Even if Jett is dead now, she’ll come back stronger than before. I’m sure of it.”
“Jett was broken,” another replies. “But the nerfs were too much … I hope Riot will listen to us and find a better balance for her abilities.”
