Apex Legends Season 18 ranked changes

Apex Legends is set to introduce significant changes to its Ranked play system in Season 18, as Respawn Entertainment responds to issues in the current season and aims to improve the overall quality and fairness of the competitive gameplay experience in the popular battle royale game. Without divulging specific details, the developer outlines the planned adjustments to address issues such as matchmaking imbalances, unfair points distribution, and other gameplay concerns.

“After reviewing the first season of ranked play in Apex Legends, we’ve identified several problems that impacted the overall quality of the ranked experience,” Respawn Entertainment says. “We believe these changes will address some of these concerns and improve the competitive gameplay experience for all Apex Legends players.”

While the developer does not provide specifics on the changes, it is clear that Apex Legends Season 18 will offer a fresh start and a revamped Ranked play system.

“We’ve also made several improvements that will impact queue times, matchmaking, and fairness,” Respawn continues. “The adjustments we’re making reflect our commitment to continuously improving the Apex Legends experience for our player base.”

Apex Legends Season 17 faced several problems that impacted the overall experience for players. The introduction of the new Legend Dizzy exacerbated an already problematic matchmaking system, and the distribution of points throughout the season felt unfair to many players.

Respawn has clearly listened to the community’s feedback and acted accordingly, implementing substantial adjustments that address player concerns. Apex Legends players can anticipate a more refined and rewarding Ranked mode in the upcoming season.

While the developer has not revealed any specific details about the changes, players can expect a significant overhaul to the existing system.

“We’re making several changes to ranked in the upcoming season,” Respawn says. “These changes are going to impact how you play ranked and how you can climb the ladder. Whenever there are changes to ranked, we always recommend reviewing our ranked play policies to ensure you stay in compliance.”

Players can also expect improvements to the in-game reporting tools and tools for reviewing evidence of toxic behaviour. There will also be an increased number of bans handed out for cheating and botting, as well as suspensions for verbal abuse and other unsportsmanlike conduct.

When the Apex Legends season 18 date arrives, players can expect a much smoother and more rewarding Ranked journey in the popular multiplayer game, as Respawn implements the adjustments outlined above.
