How to Save Arabelle in Baldur’s Gate III

Want to know how to save Arabelle in Baldur’s Gate 3? Early on in Act 1, you’ll be asked for your help to save a young Tiefling child, Arabelle, from the clutches of the Druids. The divide between the two reaches a boiling point when the child is threatened for stealing the Idol of Silvanus. It’s up to you to prevent a grisly death.

The quest to save Arabelle begins when you encounter Tieflings fighting with Druids near the ritual area. After hearing the argument, you can speak with Arabelle’s parents and initiate the quest – but are given the option to leave her to her fate. If you change your mind, however, you can go back to Arabelle’s parents and try to convince Kagha not to harm their child.

Successfully rescuing Arabelle will reward you with a Cherished Locket, an amulet that grants the spell Dancing Lights. To rescue Arabelle, you’ll need to convince Kagha not to harm her. As you speak with her, you’ll notice that she has a rather… big snake. If you choose dialogue options that align with your character’s highest stats, you’ll have a chance of preventing the Druid from harming Arabelle.

Dialogue options to choose in Act 1 of Baldur’s Gate 3

Here are the dialogue options you can choose in Act 1 of Baldur’s Gate 3 – you’ll need to keep checking your character’s stats in the Character menu to see which ones align with your stats:

  • If you initiate an attack on Kagha, you’ll trigger a fight with the Druids in the room, but not with the ones outside. Killing Kagha and her crew will result in the Tieflings winning the battle, but Arabelle will die in the process.
  • Choosing the option to stay silent or say nothing will result in Kagha killing Arabelle.
  • Successful use of skills like Detect Thoughts, Persuasion, and Nature can prevent Kagha from harming Arabelle, if you aren’t successful with the initial options. Not succeeding with the initial options still leaves a chance to stop Kagha by noticing the snake during a cutscene and unlocking more dialogue options.
  • If you aren’t sure of your skills, you can always use inspiration points or the spell Guidance to reroll certain skill checks. While there aren’t any specific skills needed to save Arabelle, Nature, Intimidation, and Persuasion are essential if you wish to convince Kagha not to harm the Tiefling child.
