How to upgrade the dual rapiers in Blasphemous 2
Are you searching for how to upgrade the dual rapiers in Blasphemous 2? While you can obtain some fancy rapier upgrades from defeated bosses, the dual rapiers, Sarmiento & Cenelle, are the weakest base weapon in the game, and you'll want to get them up to scratch before you even consider dishing out some pain. Thankfully, there's a way to unlock the true potential of these rapiers, but it's not as straightforward as you might think.
The dual rapiers, Sarmiento & Cenelle, are the first weapons you get your hands on in Blasphemous 2. You'll more than likely discard them at the first opportunity, but it's worth hanging on to them for as long as you can, as there's a specific method you can use to upgrade them. Here's how to do it.
To obtain the first upgrade for the dual rapiers, head to the Choir of Thorns region, which is to the east of the Ailment Cottage. In this area, head to the room where you first obtained the Passage of Ash ability.
Climb down the nearby wall and navigate to the bottom of this large room. Look for a section of the floor that you can slide under, and do so to reach a hidden statue. Return to the previous room and use the Passage of Ash ability to reach the top of the room. Walk across the pillar to reach the statue and trigger the cutscene.
This upgrades Sarmiento & Cenelle to the highest level available without using the Mirror of the Purger. However, there's just one more upgrade to obtain, but it isn't easy.
Head to the northeastern portion of the Elevated Temples. You can reach this area fairly early on in the game, but you'll need the Scions' Protection ability, which you obtain after defeating the Eremite of the Styx.
Head to the northeastern section of the area and break the wall, revealing the Scion's Protection ability. This allows you to destroy the demonic barriers, but you can only use it for a short period of time. Return to the previous room, head to the opposite side of the area, and use the Mirror to reach a small gap. Break the nearby wall to reveal a new section of the area.
Next, head back to the Elevated Temples, use the Sarmiento & Cenelle on a Mirror, and switch to the Ruego Al Alba. Use the Mirror to reach the section above, and perform a downward slam to destroy the breakable wall. Reach the following room, and use the Sarmiento & Cenelle on a Mirror to fling yourself high into the air.
From here, use the Sarmiento & Cenelle on a Mirror again, and switch to the Ruego Al Alba. Perform another downward slam to cut through the floor, and obtain the second upgrade.
