Cloud9 signs former NAVI CSGO stars to form a superteam
Cloud9 has officially confirmed that the former NAVI CSGO stars are headed to the organisation, as the North American team looks to form a superteam in the competitive FPS game. The signing represents a significant step towards Cloud9 bringing the competitive CS2 dreams to life, and we’re certainly not going to complain about seeing some of the best players in the world in the same Cloud9 jersey.
Cloud9 is no stranger to making moves in CS:GO, with the organisation having historically held a reputation for being one of the more aggressive buyer-agencies in the free-to-play game. In recent times, however, Cloud9 has seemingly struggled to find the right pieces to elevate its performance in CS2.
Earlier this year, Cloud9 lost the services of YNk and RUSH, with the former opting to return to coaching and the latter joining Team Liquid. In the interim, Cloud9 has brought in a handful of new talents, including former OpTic Gaming player Cuyler ‘Huke’ Garland.
However, this latest acquisition is certainly the organisation’s most significant in CS:GO, as Cloud9 confirms that former NAVI players Aleksandar ‘nek0’ Yankov and Nemanja ‘keN’ Djurisic are on their way to the North American team.
“We’re excited to announce that Aleksandar ‘nek0’ Yankov and Nemanja ‘keN’ Djurisic are joining Cloud9 CSGO,” Cloud9 writes. “The duo will continue to compete under the Cloud9 banner as we look forward to the debut of our new superteam.”
The arrival of these former NAVI stars marks a new chapter in their CS:GO careers, as the duo joins one of North America’s most storied organisations. The acquisition is sure to generate excitement among CS:GO fans and the wider esports community, as Cloud9 looks to solidify its position as a CS2 powerhouse with this superteam formation.
Of course, there’s still plenty of work to be done, and we’re sure that the former NAVI duo will have a lot to learn from the likes of Huke, as well as Cloud9’s new head coach Jeremy ‘JonY BoY’ Averts. But with this signing, Cloud9 has made a strong statement about its dedication to success in CS:GO.
For nek0 and keN, this move represents a fresh start, as both players were left without a home following NAVI’s decision to part ways with the duo. But with a proven track record of success in the competitive CS:GO scene, the two players are undoubtedly going to bring a new level of skill and expertise to Cloud9.
With the former NAVI players on board, Cloud9 is hoping that the organisation can elevate its performance in CS2, as the North American team looks to shake off a disappointing end to the competitive season.
