Cyberpunk 2077 and Witcher Fans Protest API Changes

Cyberpunk 2077 and Witcher fans are taking a stand against recent API changes on Reddit. In an effort to challenge the platform's decision to make third-party apps pay for access, these communities have flooded their respective subreddits with NSFW (not safe for work) content.

Reddit's recent API changes have had a significant impact on various communities. While smaller communities have been forced to shut down, the backlash from larger communities like Cyberpunk 2077 and Witcher has been more pronounced.

To block ads from appearing, the moderators of the Cyberpunk 2077 and Witcher subreddits have marked their communities as NSFW. However, Reddit has expressed dissatisfaction with this move and has urged the moderators to revert to their original settings.

In response, the Cyberpunk 2077 and Witcher moderators have come up with a clever solution: flooding their communities with NSFW content. This ensures that ads will continue to be blocked and prevents Reddit from threatening to shut down the subreddits for not adhering to certain guidelines.

PC Game Spotlight explains, "The Cyberpunk 2077 and Witcher communities are currently flooding their feeds with NSFW posts in protest of recent changes to the Reddit API. The Cyberpunk community has been quick to embrace this role, with players sharing nude pictures of their in-game characters and mocking Reddit CEO Steve Huffman. The Witcher subreddit has been slower to join in, but both communities have flooded their feeds with NSFW posts. Reddit has now threatened to terminate the moderators if they don't revert to normal content, claiming that these subreddits have not historically been considered NSFW. The moderators have until tomorrow to comply."

It seems unlikely that the moderators will give in to Reddit's demands, but we will keep you updated on the progress of this protest and the future of these subreddits.
