The world's first color E-ink computer monitor

This is the world's first Color E-ink computer Monitor! Well, at least for now. Dasung is hoping to bring this 25-inch color E-ink monitor to market, and it's doing so through an Indiegogo campaign.

The Dasung monitor boasts a 3200 x 1800 resolution, and it looks pretty darn good for an e-ink display. It even has a height-adjustable stand, which is becoming increasingly common on modern LCD monitors. The most attractive thing about e-ink displays, in my opinion, is their paper-like look. Of course, they're also eye-friendly, so they're great for tasks that involve a lot of reading.

There are five different display connections on the back of this thing, which is interesting because most e-ink displays only have one. I'm not sure what all of these are for, but I'm guessing one is for a pure HDMI connection and another is for a VGA connection.

It's nice that this thing supports 4096 colors, but it still falls short in one major area. Color accuracy. Compared to LCD monitors, this thing looks a little like crayon drawings. I can imagine that it's fine for basic text-based tasks, but I doubt it would be ideal for watching movies or videos.

No release date has been announced, but as updates become available, you can find them on the Indiegogo campaign page.
