Defeating the Phantom Jellyfish in Dave The Diver

Want to know how to beat the Phantom Jellyfish in Dave The Diver? The Phantom Jellyfish is a tricky boss, but if you understand its unique battlefield and special mechanics, you'll have no problem taking it down.

The Phantom Jellyfish is only available in Dave The Diver's chapter six. You won't have the opportunity to face this saline-based adversary until you reach this specific chapter. We'll guide you through everything you need to know about the Phantom Jellyfish, including its unique mechanics, how to reach the boss, and how to defeat it.

Finding the Phantom Jellyfish in Dave The Diver

The Phantom Jellyfish is not available at the start of the game. You won't be able to find it until you reach Chapter Six. First, you need to activate three switches and solve puzzle sections.

The first switch's puzzle section becomes available after defeating the Electric Anemone and finding the Beluga. The second switch's puzzle section becomes available after finding and saving the Beluga.

After solving these two puzzles, you'll be able to reach the Phantom Jellyfish. The second puzzle section has a button that opens a gate. This gate leads to the area where the Phantom Jellyfish is located.

Reaching the Phantom Jellyfish in Dave The Diver

To reach the Phantom Jellyfish, you need to use the Beluga. You can use the Beluga to navigate against the currents and enter the area where the Phantom Jellyfish is located.

Note that you can't use your weapons or inventory items during the fight. The only way to damage the boss is by using the Beluga's head smash ability. Brown Jellyfish will spawn and explode if they get too close to the whale, depleting its health bars.

You can't let the Beluga's health bars deplete, or you'll fail the battle. If all three health bars are depleted, the battle fails and you can restart or come back prepared.

The Phantom Jellyfish's Attack Pattern

After a few seconds, the brown Jellyfish will automatically explode, and the Phantom Jellyfish will reveal its red eyes. The Phantom Jellyfish will create a current that pushes you to the left. The current is strong, so it's difficult to get close to the boss.

The Phantom Jellyfish will spawn green projectiles. You can avoid these projectiles by using the sprint mechanic. If you don't know how the sprint mechanic works, you can press R1 to sprint. While sprinting, you can let go of the R1 button and then press it again to jump or wall jump.

This is useful to avoid obstacles and get closer to the Phantom Jellyfish. You can use this mechanic to get close to the boss while avoiding the green projectiles it shoots.

The Phantom Jellyfish's attack patterns are as follows:

In phase one, the Phantom Jellyfish will create a current that pushes you to the left and spawn brown Jellyfish one at a time. The Phantom Jellyfish will shoot two rounds of green projectiles in quick succession.

In phase two, the Phantom Jellyfish will create a current that pushes you to the left and spawn two brown Jellyfish. The boss will release a group of green projectiles that curve to the bottom of the field.

In phase three, the Phantom Jellyfish will create a current that pushes you to the left and spawn four brown Jellyfish. The boss moves randomly around the battlefield and releases a group of green projectiles that curve to the bottom of the field.

Damaging the Phantom Jellyfish in Dave The Diver

The Phantom Jellyfish has multiple health bars. You can't damage the boss until you head smash it. Each time you head smash the Phantom Jellyfish, it becomes stronger, enhancing its attacks.

In phase one, the Phantom Jellyfish has two health bars. The Phantom Jellyfish will spawn one Jellyfish at a time. The Phantom Jellyfish shoots two rounds of green projectiles in quick succession. Each time you head smash the Phantom Jellyfish, the boss's attack pattern changes.

In phase two, the Phantom Jellyfish has three health bars. The Phantom Jellyfish will spawn two Jellyfish at a time. The Phantom Jellyfish will release a group of green projectiles that curve to the bottom of the field. The Phantom Jellyfish's attack pattern changes each time you head smash it.

The Phantom Jellyfish is one of the hardest bosses in Dave The Diver. You can expect to die multiple times before defeating it. In our experience, the best way to deal with the Phantom Jellyfish's attack patterns is to head smash it as soon as it appears and then run to the bottom-left corner of the battlefield.
