Magic: The Gathering Fallout Commander decks release in March 2024.
The Magic: The Gathering Universes Beyond is adding a Fallout set to its lineup, with Commander decks launching in March 2024. Announced during the Gen Con Magic 30 panel, the Fallout Commander decks will likely follow the same format as previous releases, with mostly new cards and reprints with Fallout-themed art.
The announcement follows on from the recent Vault-Tec sponsored events in cities across the world, including a Fallout-themed party at Gen Con itself. The iconic characters, places, and aesthetics of the post-nuclear Fallout universe are seen as a good fit for the unique visual style of Magic: The Gathering, with the colorful factions of the Wasteland represented as well.
Though the deck themes and face commanders have yet to be revealed, we can make some educated guesses about what might be included. Given that bloodthirsty raiders, super mutants, irradiated monsters, and retro-futurist robots are all iconic Fallout characters, it’s safe to say that these sorts of cards will appear in the decks.
The absence of the New California Republic or the Brotherhood of Steel would be surprising, but there’s always a chance we might see a few cards that represent these factions or the different areas of the Wasteland. Of course, it’s also possible that we’ll see a few surprises like Magic: The Gathering Hell Riders or Magic: The Gathering Sulik cards.
