Want to know how one FIFA 23 player transformed their FUT addiction into a profitable trading strategy?
For many FIFA 23 Ultimate Team players, the journey towards becoming a profitable trader on the FUT market can begin with a single, ill-fated opening of a pack. Cursing at that zero-rated player you just got, you may start to wonder if you could do better by trading on the market yourself. Before you know it, you’ve spent £50 on FIFA points and are trying to flog that unwanted TOTY player for a fraction of what you paid for him.
Unfortunately, this pattern is all too common. If you’re someone who finds yourself getting their wallet out every time you get a zero-rated player, or simply spends too much on FUT packs, you may be suffering from a form of FUT addiction. It’s a real thing, and one FIFA 23 player has broken the cycle to become a successful FIFA 23 trader. We’ve spoken to that player to share their journey from addicted FUT spender to trading expert, and it’s an inspiring one.
“I first started trading to break free from my addiction,” says the FUT player in question. “I was spending so much and getting nowhere, so I decided to chuck my money at the market and see what I could do.” At the start of their journey, this player – who wishes to remain anonymous – was spending around £100 per week on FUT packs. After hitting rock bottom and realising they needed to change, they turned to trading as a means of getting off the FUT market and earning profit.
“I was addicted to trading too,” they tell us. “I was pretty full on with it, too. I was trading all day, every day.” From there, this FIFA 23 player has become a successful FUT trader, and has even managed to leverage their knowledge to build a career off the back of it. “I know how crazy it sounds but I actually earn a living trading now,” they share.
It’s difficult to say why this player has managed to turn their life around while others have not, but there are some simple things that could help anyone to stop opening packs. “Don’t spend, trade,” our anonymous FIFA player advises. “You could try putting a limit on how much you spend, or don’t spend on certain players. I spent loads on Messi and Ronaldo, for example, and put a ban on myself from buying any more.”
From there, this FUT player suggests using your trade lists to turn player sales into profit – a simple way to use your existing knowledge of the market and players to turn a profit without spending any more money. “You can always use the players you have to trade,” they continue. “Take a look at the transfer market, see who’s a hype and sell them.”
