FIFA 23 Trivela: How to Score with the Stylish New Technique

Want to know how to score with the Trivela in FIFA 23? The meta-favorite shooting technique was revealed at EA Play, and it’s not that hard to pull off once you know how. Like the Rabona in previous years, you’ll need to be in the right positions rather than forcing the technique, but once you’ve mastered it, it’ll be devastating in FIFA 23 matches.

The FIFA 23 Trivela is similar to the scissor kick, but it’s far easier to pull off, and it adds a curling effect to the ball’s flight through the air. If you’re in the box, you should use it when cutting in on a winger’s strong side and getting the ball in front of goal. If you’re outside the box and have a player with 80-89 shot power, it’s the best option.

How to do the Trivela in FIFA 23

To perform the Trivela in FIFA 23, use the following button combinations:

  • LT + B on Xbox
  • L2 + Circle on PlayStation
  • HOLD W + Left Click on PC

As with many shooting techniques, the key to performing a Trivela is getting your positioning right. To achieve the curling effect, position the ball to the outside of your strong foot, so if you’re right-footed, the ball should be on the right, and vice versa for left-footed players.

The key is to be in the right positions to use it effectively, rather than forcing it. For example, if you’re a right-footed player, position yourself with the ball slightly to the right, and it should naturally curl in that direction. Similarly, for left-footed players, position the ball slightly to the left.

If you’re standing in the box and are getting hit with passes from midfielders, it’s tempting to just blast it as hard as you can, but the Trivela should be a surprise tactic when cutting in on a winger’s strong side.

The best place to attempt a Trivela is from outside the box, using a player with 80-89 shot power. That shot power range generates enough power while still causing the ball to loop in the air, making it incredibly difficult for the goalkeeper to save.

With practice and repetition, you’ll build the muscle memory required to execute it consistently. Once you’ve got it down, it’ll be a great way to surprise defenders and tear them apart.

FIFA 23 is out on Friday 6 February on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
