Hitman: World of Assassination
IO Interactive announces a new elusive target for Hitman: World of Assassination as part of its 25th-anniversary celebrations, and it’s really getting me pumped for the stealth game. The target is Superstar DJ Dimitri Vegas, who will be lending his likeness and voiceover to a character called The Drop. The DJ-turned-druglord will be a challenging target for players, and that’s precisely what I love about the Hitman games.
The announcement came during a set by Vegas and Like Mike at Tomorrowland 2023, and it’s a fitting place for such a big reveal. This will be the first elusive target mission in two years, and players will have one chance to eliminate the target. If you fail, the opportunity is lost.
Elusive targets also appear in the Elusive Target Arcade mode, where failure results in a complete reset of progress. There’s no specific release date for The Drop yet, but speculation points to IO Interactive’s 25th anniversary on September 16, 1998, as a possible date.
This announcement raises a lot of questions about possible updates on IO Interactive’s James Bond game, which was announced three years ago. I’m hoping for some sort of update at this point, but I’m not going to lose sleep over it.
The Drop description
“There’s a new drug in town, and it’s making its way into the hands of the rich and famous. Disrupt The Drop’s party before it gets out of hand and takes over the scene.”
Elusive Target Arcade mode
There’s no official word yet on Elusive Target Arcade mode for The Drop, but it would make sense if it follows the same guidelines as previous elusive targets.
If you fail to eliminate the elusive target, your progress is reset and you will have to start from scratch.
