Wondering how to transfer your Pokemon to Pokemon Home? This new app allows users to transfer their collected critters from older Game Boy Advance and DS games to the Nintendo Switch. Although the process is a little complicated and time-consuming, it is definitely worth it to bring your old Pokemon teams to the best Pokemon game on the go.

How to Transfer Pokemon to Pokemon Home

To transfer Pokemon to Pokemon Home, you need to transfer them to Pokemon Bank first, and then to Pokemon Home. To do this, you must use the Pokemon Transporter, which is designed to transfer Pokemon from certain games to Pokemon Bank. Please note that the Poke Transporter has been shut down for new users since March 27, 2023.

Here are the steps to transfer Pokemon from various games and platforms to Pokemon Home:

Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Color Games

Pokemon from the Game Boy Advance games Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald can be transferred to Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, or SoulSilver, and then to Pokemon Black, White, Black 2, or White 2 before being transferred to Pokemon Home.

Pokemon from the Game Boy Advance games Fire Red or Leaf Green can be transferred to Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald, and then to Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, or SoulSilver before being transferred to Pokemon Home. Alternatively, you can transfer Pokemon from Fire Red or Leaf Green to Pokemon Emerald, and then to Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, or SoulSilver, and finally to Pokemon Home.

Pokemon from the Game Boy Advance games Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald can be transferred to Pokemon X, Y, Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, or Ultra Moon before being transferred to Pokemon Home.
