Sick of all this LAN party Nostalgia, are you? Well, the 5th Annual Lan this weekend has got one excited user, and many other users share fond memories of the atmosphere of Lan parties. Some express excitement about the Marvel 2 arcade machine, while others reminisce about the good old days when they used to play games all night. One user jokes about the guy taped to the ceiling, but other users explain that he wasn’t visible in the photo. We’re also talking about our favourite snacks at Lan parties, and there’s even a ranking. So many good memories.

5th Annual Lan

“LAN parties are the best,” one user replies. “The excitement for those hours when you’re not home, you’re at the Lan,” they continue, “and the sheer amount of games you can play in one place.” “I miss the days when I could walk two minutes from my house and be at a LAN with 30 PCs,” another replies, while someone else shares a photo of the server room their brother built in their basement.

“The smell of halitosis, acne scars, and gaming gear,” one user jokingly replies. “Mine was the smell of pizza, Bawls, Unreal, and Counter Strike,” another replies. “Smells like puke,” someone says, but other users reminisce about the good old days when they used to drink Bawls.

Someone shares a photo of the game Rocket League, in which a user confirms that it’s being played. “Is there any game that isn’t being played at this Lan?” someone asks, to which another replies that the schedule includes games like Rocket League, Counter Strike Global Offensive, Smash Bros Ultimate, and Mario Kart Double Dash. Some express enthusiasm for the game lineup, while others question the inclusion of Midget Wrestling and suggest using the term “Little People Wrastling” instead.

Someone asks for a ranking of the games from most fun to least fun for an upcoming Lan they will attend. “I’ve been gaming alone for 15 years and I miss the old days of playing with friends,” someone shares. “I value my basement full of nerd friends and the memories we made at Lan parties,” another replies.

“I’ve never been to a Lan, but I know I’d be the guy who would be sitting in a chair and playing Blackout,” one user says.
