Spider-Man 2: Miles Morales vs. Mr. Negative, Venom, and Kraven
Miles Morales will face off against Mr. Negative in Spider-Man 2, as the infamous villain makes a comeback alongside Venom and Kraven. The first game established that Mr. Negative was responsible for the death of Miles’ father. However, the role Mr. Negative will play in the sequel remains unknown. A new trailer for the Spider-Man game shows Miles confronting Martin Li (Mr. Negative), who appears to be in a prison of some kind.
“I was surprised,” voice actor Nadji Jeter, who plays Miles Morales in Marvel’s Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2, tells The Express when asked about Mr. Negative’s return. “I knew he was going to be in it, but I didn’t know he was going to be a central figure.”
Jeter continues, “There’s going to be a lot of intense emotional scenes between Miles and Mr. Negative, which I can’t wait to record.”
We don’t know what role Martin Li (Mr. Negative) will play in the story, but considering he no longer possesses his superpowers, it seems he won’t be a threat to Miles. However, that could change since it’s possible he regained his powers since losing them in the first game.
“I hope that it doesn’t become a ‘villain of the week’ story arc,” Jeter says, and elaborates that he hopes Martin Li’s story will be more emotional and grounded.
The Spider-Man 2 trailer also showcased other supervillains such as Kraven, Lizard, and a more detailed look at Venom. The increasing number of supervillains suggests Spider-Man 2 will definitely present a formidable challenge for Peter, Miles, and their allies.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 releases on October 20 later this year.
