Starfox Adventures: A Nostalgic Favorite

If you're a fan of Starfox Adventures and would love to see a Nintendo Switch remaster, then you're not alone. A lot of Starfox Adventures devotees are still holding out for a new version of the game, and reminisce about their favorite parts of the Rare classic.

Some just express their love for the game, and mention that they'd buy a remastered version in a heartbeat. Others share their nostalgia for the game, and joke about the small number of fans it has. But, it's still one of the best Nintendo games in my opinion.

Some discuss their disappointment with the final boss and how it deviates from their expectations. "I feel like the devs got so caught up in making it a Zelda game instead of a Star Fox game that they just forgot to make the final boss a giant gorilla," one user comments. "They probably ran out of time," another replies.

"The game was probably changed by Nintendo halfway through development," one user suggests, "and the ending was probably affected by that." "It did have pretty mixed reviews," another user replies, "but I think that was because it was drastically different than the Star Fox games that were before it and was originally going to be a different game called Dinosaur Planet."

"Wow, I had no idea it got such a bad reception," some users comment, "I remember it as being outstanding." "I think it was mainly the change in formula that really turned people off, and the fact that the game was originally supposed to be Dinosaur Planet," another user replies.

"I dunno," one user comments, "maybe it's the sexy blue furry fetish I never knew I had." Others share their fond memories of playing the game, including struggling with certain challenging parts.

There are also some who express their desire for a new Star Fox Adventure game or a remaster that improves upon the original. "I would love a remake of Starfox Adventures," one user says, "but I doubt we'll ever see one."

"I'd love to see a new Starfox Adventure game," another replies, "but I doubt it'll happen while Miyamoto is around." Others mention specific parts of the game that left an impression on them.

"The only thing I want from a Starfox Adventures remaster is the mini-game where you try to shoot as many bees as possible," one user jokes. "I'd pay $300 for that alone," another replies, referencing the high price of the Nintendo Switch.

Outside of Starfox Adventures, there are plenty of other comments about the series as a whole. Many users are fans of other Star Fox games, and express their appreciation for Adventures as well.

Some express their support for a remastered version, and their willingness to pay a high price for it. "I'd pay $300 for a Starfox Adventures remaster," one user says, "I'd prefer a course creator, but I'd be happy to pay that just for the base game."

"Starfox is the best rail shooter action game," another user says, "I'd buy a Starfox 64 remaster so I could have both on Switch." "I've played through Starfox 64 so many times I've lost count," another replies, "but I've only played Starfox Adventures once."

There are also some funny comments about the shopkeeper character, whom some users seem to think is a bit of a menace. "I'd love to see a Starfox Adventures remaster," one user says, "but I'd want the shopkeeper's damage to be reduced significantly."

There are also some who criticize the combat, puzzles, and story of Adventures, considering it a failed attempt by Rare to make a Zelda clone. "I loved Starfox Adventures so much as a kid," one user says, "but playing it now I'm just like 'what were they thinking?'"

"Nostalgia is a hell of a drug," another replies, "I'm sure a lot of the people who loved it as kids are still in love with the idea of it now." That's certainly true, but there are a few users who express their disappointment with the game as well.

"Starfox Adventures is a great game," one user says, "but I think a lot of fans are just blinded by nostalgia. It has boring combat, poor puzzles, and the story is a hot mess." "I think a lot of people played it as kids and didn't know any better," another replies.

There are also some who argue that nostalgia may be clouding the judgment of those who enjoyed the game as children. "I think some of these people are just so attached to the game that they're willing to defend it no matter what," one user says.

"I feel like some of these people are reading the negative parts and identifying with them," another replies, "like, 'oh yeah, that's how I felt playing the game.'" If you've ever played the game yourself, then be sure to share your thoughts on it in the comments.

In the meantime, we've got the best games like Zelda on Nintendo Switch, which includes plenty of other great action games as well. Perhaps one of those will scratch that Starfox Adventures itch for you.
